Sarah Palin Walks Away

Posted by integrityforamerica on July 9, 2009

Some say that soon to be former Governor Sarah Palin will be pursuing a higher political career, I tend to think she has thrown the towel in on politics. I believe that when she arrived back to Alaska the pressure was on. She started getting the ethics complaints, her family was under a microscope and I am sure there is allot more the public has not heard about. The interesting thing about all of this is the way she handled it. Its obvious the heat got too hot in the kitchen. Isn’t that how politics works. Doesn’t it eventually get really hot, and the idea is to put on your gloves and handle it. I am even sure allot of the ethics complaints where probably foolish. That’s how politics work, but you never give up.

I truly believe any political career she may have thought was possible will never happen. She gave up on her own people. So we don’t need someone who will give up on the rest of us.

Godspeed Mrs. Palin

Reflection

Posted by integrityforamerica on July 7, 2009

It seems like just yesterday when I first saw Thriller come on tv. I remember it well because I was with my mom at a friend of hers house. My first best friend Harry.

I guess every where you turn people are talking about Michael Jackson, some people saying good things and some people saying horrible things. We all have our opinions about this mans life, but I think the greatest thing we can learn from all of this is to take a look in the mirror. Start with yourself and change things inside of you. We all have areas we need to improve on.

Second, we need to look at our loved ones closely, and make sure that they are doing ok, make sure that they are not hurting inside and the people around them are helping and not hurting them.

Third, we need to set realistic goals for our children. We need to let them know that success is not measured by how much money or fame you have, it is measured by what you accomplish in life and how did your accomplishments affect and change others.

I will be the first to admit that I need to make changes in my life. How often do we look in the mirror and learn about ourselves, we have become a society so critical of others, how often do we criticize the reflection in the mirror. Who am I to call you strange? Why can I not accept that you are not like me without calling you a weirdo? Am I better then you since I make more money and pay more bills?

So many questions to ask but so many answers to receive. Somehow if we dig deep we will find our flaws are often greater then the ones we notice in others.

Inmate’s behind-bars bar mitzvah rattles chain of N.Y. officials

NEW YORK (CNN) — New York officials want to know how a jail inmate threw a lavish bar mitzvah for his son inside a detention facility, complete with live music and catered kosher food.

The gala, attended by about 60 people, took place in the visiting room of the Manhattan Detention Complex, a facility known locally as “The Tombs,” according to a spokeswoman for New York City’s Department of Investigation. Officials have launched a probe of how Tuvia Stern pulled off the event without raising any red flags, she said.

Five correction employees, including a rabbi, an assistant commissioner, a warden and two assistant chiefs, are being disciplined as a result of the incident, said Stephen Morello from the city’s Department of Corrections.

The New York Post, which first broke the story on Thursday, reported that guests were allowed to use cell phones — which are normally prohibited at the jail.

This is just another one of the weird stories that seems to plague New York City.  We have long lived in a city where certain groups get very special special treatment according to who the Mayor is.  Sometimes the special treatment is targeted towards a group for votes or sometimes its a just because situation.

This is a clear instance in which favoritism has clearly gone way too far.  This is sad and should be unacceptable by any of the 9 million New York’s who read about this happening.

Mayor Mike, no comment is not acceptable; this is a time when we need you to comment the most.  Things like this must stop in New York.

Stern, 47, is serving at least 2 1/2 years for a first-degree grand larceny conviction, according to corrections officials.

Manhattan prosecutors refused comment.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, speaking on a morning radio show Friday, would not divulge details about the investigation, but quipped, “As they say, oy vey.”

All parties involved should not be disciplined; they should all be fired immediately.

Michael Jackson’s Kids Spotted Without Masks!

Posted by integrityforamerica on June 5, 2009

No footage found.

Mike’s kids were spotted for the first time in a long time without those crazy masks on!! Check out the pics below (plus previous photos of the kids) and tell us, do they look like their father AT ALL?

Michael Jackson seems to get more and more foolish and crazy every year.  I am truly in aww that he would try to claim these children as being his in the sense of his genetics.  DNA is not altered by a disease which causes the lost of pigmentation in the skin.  Even though Mika has turned lighter over the years, his DNA is still that of a black man.

These children are obviously not mixed at all.  They are not mixed even a little bit.  I just think it sad that mike being such a celebrity cannot be proud of who he is.  The message that sends to young children of color is horrible.  We must accept what we have been given regardless if your belief is within God or science.

Why strive to change who we really are in pursuit of what we can never internally be.  All of this surgery and bleaching is external and will never change the inner soul.

Obama leaves door open to Bush officials’ prosecution

Posted by integrityforamerica on April 21, 2009

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Obama on Tuesday left open the possibility of criminal prosecution for Bush administration officials who drew up the legal basis for interrogation techniques that many view as torture.

President Obama says any congressional investigation should be conducted in a bipartisan fashion.

President Obama says any congressional investigation should be conducted in a bipartisan fashion.

Obama said it will be up to Attorney General Eric Holder to decide whether or not to prosecute the former officials.

“With respect to those who formulated those legal decisions, I would say that is going to be more a decision for the attorney general within the parameter of various laws, and I don’t want to prejudge that,” Obama said during a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah at the White House.

“There’s a host of very complicated issues involved there. As a general deal, I think we should be looking forward and not backward.

So far I have supported the majority of Obama Administration policies. This is one policy I can not support. We can not under any circumstances start to prosecute military members officer or enlisted for following direct orders. The problem with this is very clear. If we go after these people who followed orders they where directly given by their superiors then we will have a military full of members who will question orders all the time.

In order to have and maintain control in the military we can not have members who are in fear of carrying out a direct order.

Please do not change course and prosecute members of the governement who followed orders. Prosecute those that issued the order from the top down, if they broke the law.

I am truly undecided as to how much real and legitimate information we recieved from these interrogations.

Robert Livingston a 16 year old shows his support for Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Bloomberg won his fight to end term limits but polls show he is still the front runner after already completing 2 terms.

Today Michael Bloomberg did a citywide tour to open up offices all over New York City.  Although many New Yorkers are upset that he did not hold a citywide vote to end term limits, the polls are showing he is definitely the front runner for reelection.

Michael Bloomberg has given this city everything it needs to survive.  After 911 many people where scared to do business in NYC and even the thought of living in New York frightened most new Yorkers.  Michael Bloomberg immediately ordered the Police Department to become a show of force in New York, and he rebuilt this city during a time when everyone wanted to leave.

We can not always agree with every decision that Bloomberg has made as Mayor, however he has always been fair and never picks sides.   We learned early on if Bloomberg is going to change the way the city operates it doesn’t matter what race your are or religion we will all get the brunt of the force.

Bloomberg has made the right decisions at the right times, and although many people are upset in New York City, Bloomberg is the man for the Job.

Lieberman may have day of reckoning with Democrats

Posted by integrityforamerica on November 7, 2008

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Joe Lieberman met Thursday with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to discuss Lieberman’s future with the Democratic caucus.

Sen. Joe Lieberman's decision to campaign for Sen. John McCain angered Democrats.

Sen. Joe Lieberman’s decision to campaign for Sen. John McCain angered Democrats.

After the meeting, the Connecticut senator did not discuss what he and Reid talked about, but said, “The election is over, and I completely agree with President-elect [Barack] Obama that we must now unite to get our economy going again and to keep the American people safe.

“That is exactly what I intend to do with my colleagues here in the Senate in support of our new president,” he said. “And those are the standards I will use in considering the options that I have before me.”

Reid said in a statement that no decisions had been made during their meeting.

“While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus,” said Reid, D-Nevada.

“I expect there to be additional discussions in the days to come, and Sen. Lieberman and I will speak to our caucus in two weeks to discuss further steps,” he said.

Lieberman, the Democrat turned independent who backed Republican Sen. John McCain for president, angered many Democrats — including Reid — when he attacked Obama during the presidential campaign. Video Watch Lieberman call for Americans to unite »

Reid was especially irked by Lieberman’s prime-time speech at the Republican National Convention this summer.

What should the Dems do with lieberman?

Lieberman has been consistant on one thng and one thing only, His own agenda.  He seems to sway with whoever he feels is going to have the win at the end of the day.  I applaud any man or woman in government who can stand on their own and will not be swayed by their party, but in the case of Lieberman durring this election he has lost my respect.

He didn’t have to support Obama for President, I didnt take offense to him endoresing Mccain.  The problem that I have with him and I think many Americans have with Lieberman is clear.  He spoke at the RNC Convention and said some horrible things that was not only stepping outside of the party but downright insulting to Barack Obama.

I lost all respect for him after the RNC Convention and I think a large majority of his fellow democrats feel the same.  The funny tale to all of this will likely come out over the next few weeks.  Lieberman has lost the respect of not only many Democrats, but I was amazed to see the amount of Republicans who feel he can not be trusted.  I wonder how many independent voters look at Liberman as a real indie guy or just a politician pushing his agenda to get to the top.

Wrong date for Election Day in Westchester Spanish mailing

Wrong date for Election Day in Westchester Spanish mailing

The Associated Press

Updated Monday, November 3rd 2008, 5:03 PM

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The wrong date for Election Day was printed in the Spanish-language section of a letter sent to thousands of suburban voters, officials said Monday.

Westchester County made automated calls to voters in eight municipalities over the weekend in an attempt to correct the mistake, but one Hispanic official said she worried that some voters might be confused.

“I think most people do know when Election Day is, but if you get an official letter from the Board of Elections that tells you another day, you might be confused,” said Grace Heymann, director of the Westchester Hispanic Coalition.

“I would especially worry about first-time voters,” she said. “We have been working hard to get out the vote, and we are getting some questions because of this letter.”

The mailing, about the availability of ballot marking devices used by disabled voters, was in English and Spanish. The Spanish section said Election Day was Nov. 9 instead of Nov. 4.

As elected officials scramble to get the correct information out, a major mistake could possibly have an impact within certain districts.  With people working many hours and sometimes more then one job this mailing could reach a group of people who are first time voters.  Although we take it for granted that everyone knows when to vote, for some voters this mailout could be the difference between voting and missing the oppourtunity.

Westchester County officials have reached out to communities to correct the mistake.

Hopefully its not too late.

Palin didn’t violate ethics law, 2nd probe finds

Posted by integrityforamerica on November 4, 2008

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) — Alaska’s Personnel Board concluded Monday that Gov. Sarah Palin did not violate ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, contradicting an earlier investigation’s findings.

GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin campaigns in Columbvus, Ohio, on Sunday.

GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin campaigns in Columbvus, Ohio, on Sunday.

“There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters,” Timothy Petumenos, the Anchorage lawyer hired to conduct the investigation, wrote in his final report.

The announcement comes a day before Palin and Republican presidential nominee John McCain face voters in Tuesday’s presidential election.

Allegations that Palin fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan in July because he refused to fire her sister’s ex-husband, Mike Wooten, have dogged her since before she became the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in August.

How ironic that a day before the election the Personnel Board comes to this conclusion, its also ironic that this is the very investigation that Palin asked to be held.  I am sure if we dig deep we will find a connection but its not important and its definetely not in time to make any changes for election day.

America needs real solutions to the very real problems that we are facing.  I applaud Mccains service and his many years of dedicated service.  I however would like to ask Mccain about his dedicated service since he runs on the platform of experience and being tested.  What happen over the many years he has had in government that only now does he attempt to make these changes that we need.  Why has he not been a Maverick before the election fighting on behalf of citizens.  Its kind of like me being a mechanic and telling you about how to fix your car even though my car is in the driveway broken down.

Tomorrow will tell each candidate what America thinks and I hope Obama wins, but regardless of who wins they just need to know we have been fooled many times and the next 4 years there must be accountability and transparency.  We must know what our elected officials are doing.  Its important for us to keep on top of whoever wins tomorrow.

I dont think this second investigation with Palin is legit but oh well its politics.  Real issues deserve real answers, the time is now and America demands change.
